British values and our core values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Co-operation are incorporated into our long-term plans. This encourages pupils to acknowledge how important they are in guiding their daily actions and helping them to build character and self-control. Our pupils are introduced to gardening, cooking, CALMA and sports related mentoring.
The school’s curriculum, based on the National Curriculum, aims to provide an integrated framework for learning, designed to draw upon the many different learning experiences open to pupils. It relies on making connections between curriculum areas and supports pupils to transfer and apply their learning. Chris Quigley’s Essential Curriculum is used as a skills and knowledge resource to support progression. Events, visits and trips out of school take advantage of London’s world class museums and galleries. Themed weeks include Ambitions Week, when the school working in partnership with Primary Futures, invites volunteers to share their career paths and choices. STEAM Week and Money Week give pupils outcome-based learning experiences combining Science, Technology, Maths and the Arts. A dedicated classroom designed for Science and the Arts is now established.
